Last updated: 2 October 2026. This is a template — replace the [bracketed] placeholders with your details before relying on it.

This Privacy Policy explains how [Business name / trading as Matrx] (ABN [ABN]) (“Matrx”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information when you visit our store, place an order, contact us, or see and interact with our ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or responding to our advertising, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us — when you place an order, create an account, or contact us: name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address; order details and the vehicle details you enter for custom mats (make, model, year, notes); payment information (processed securely by our payment providers — we do not store full card numbers); and any messages you send us.

Information collected automatically — when you browse the store or interact with our ads: device and browser type, IP address and approximate location; pages viewed, products browsed, items added to cart and actions taken on the site; referral source (including whether you arrived from a Meta or Google ad); and cookie, pixel and advertising identifiers.

2. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our store uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags and local storage) to make the site work, understand how it is used, and deliver and measure advertising. These are essential (needed for the site and checkout), analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) and advertising (e.g. the Meta Pixel and Google Ads tags). You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner (where shown) and your browser settings.

3. Advertising and analytics — Meta and Google

We advertise on Meta and Google and use their tracking tools to show relevant ads, build audiences and measure results. These tools collect information about your activity on our store and share it with Meta and Google.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta Pixel and Conversions API. When you visit our store, the Meta Pixel may record pages viewed, products browsed, items added to cart and purchases, along with your device and a Meta advertising identifier. This lets us measure our ads, show you products you viewed again (remarketing) and reach similar audiences. See Meta’s Privacy Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy.

Google — Google Ads and Google Analytics. We use Google tags to measure ad conversions, understand site usage and run remarketing across Google services and partner sites. Google may collect pages viewed, actions taken, device information and advertising identifiers. See Google’s Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from partner sites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Where required, these tools only load after you give consent through our cookie banner. We do not sell your personal information.

4. How we use your information

To process and deliver your orders (including making custom mats to your vehicle details); provide support; send order updates and, where you opt in, marketing emails; deliver, personalise and measure our advertising on Meta and Google; improve our store and service; prevent fraud; and meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.

5. Who we share your information with

We share personal information only as needed to run our store and advertising: Shopify (our e-commerce platform), payment providers, shipping and fulfilment partners, Meta and Google (advertising and analytics), email and marketing tools, and professional advisers or authorities where required by law. Some providers are overseas, including in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Your choices and opt-outs

7. Security, retention and overseas storage

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, using reputable providers (such as Shopify) that apply encryption and access controls. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure. We keep personal information only as long as needed or as required by law, then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. Some providers are overseas, so data may be stored or processed outside Australia.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us to access or correct your personal information and opt out of marketing and personalised advertising. To make a request or raise a concern, contact [privacy email]. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992. EU/UK visitors may have additional rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR.

9. Children, changes and contact

Our store is intended for adults; we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. We may update this policy from time to time, with the current version always on this page. Questions: [privacy email] · [Business name / ABN].
